What I wore/cooked/read/considered this week, featuring screen time anxiety, tons of book recommendations, the beginnings of a wellness journey & a shocking amount of coffee.

After a summer of travel abroad & sleep away camp, it’s wonderful to be tucked in at home with all three of my children. HOWEVER (and you knew a “however” was coming), I have low-grade anxiety all day long about keeping everyone suitably engaged sans screentime. I completely relate to all of these thinkpieces about how parents don’t just long for 90’s summers filled with Otter Pops and banana seat bike gangs, but the actual 1990’s when parents were not contending with the gravitational pull of iPads and streaming television. I suppose one could lean into “Kid Rotting” and just let them become one with the sofa, but after fighting the good fight for SO long, am I really going to give up now?!

I DIGRESS. Anyway, I work, I wear a cute romper, and I pick Char up from soccer camp & drag her to Perenn for bread and my favorite cappuccino in Nashville. I take Mac to the library, I do more power washing (here’s my weapon of choice), I start a new jigsaw puzzle with my kids, and I order Chinese food because I am SPENT. (Which I have more thoughts about, coming soon.) Also, Nashville friends: please share your favorite Chinese delivery spots!
